That is a good move to ensure that the questionnaire is relevant to the person being appraised.

We also make sure that those who answer the surveys really do have a connection to the person who is appraised. We don't just look at the organizational chart, they have to be somebody whom the person works with on a regular basis

Our company always puts a high premium on job performance. We found that people often overrate themselves when it comes to their own ratings. But having a different average garnered from other respondents, often it is shocking to them. So they strive hard to be as good as they think they are.

I like 360 because it's much more objective and very much fair. But you have to make sure that confidentiality is assured every step of the way. With a lot of respondents, a leakage is your worst enemy.

When we first implemented this kind of feedback, we went through a whole lot of trial and errors. We had countless of focus groups and other discussions to see how we were doing and how we could improve. We still do this now, but not as frequent.

We have made it a point that no matter how long you've had the 360 process in place, it will always be good to brief everybody about it every single time we conduct it. This is to make sure that everybody is on the same page.

I agree that you still have to reevaluate your 360 feedback system even over the years.

tasked me to do a report on 360 degree appraisals. I have done the research on what it is about, but I am stuck on the best practices part. I think that I need your help on that!
Reply With Quoteappraisal that provides feedback to the individual about his performance from different people in the company. As opposed to traditional appraisals where only his manager gives an evaluation, 360 degrees often include subordinates, other departments and the individual appraising his own performance.
