Question Redundancy and TUPE

Hi. My employment is about to be carried over to another company through TUPE. I have been told by my new employer that once this has happened they will make me redundant and if I accept take me on with a new contract in a different role so as to lower my salary. Firstly is this allowed? Also am I able to opt out of the TUPE and will I then be made redundant from my current employer as the position I hold will no longer be available or will it be classed as me handing in my notice and receiving 4 weeks notice period in payment?

I would be grateful for any help or information, I have already tried contacting ACAS to no avail.

Thanks in advance for any help
