Default Help!! Threat of redundancy but procedure not followed.. where do I stand!?!

Hi,

I am a 23 female working within the software industry. I have held my position at my company for 2.5 years but was recently informed by my manager that "there is a possibility that you will be made redundant within the next 6 months."

Back ground info:
I have never had any complaints from Managers etc regarding my work. I work within Telemarketing and I report to my Sales Manager. Our Marketing Manager has been off longterm sick since May 2010.

When this incident occurd, my manager was informing me that we were looking to change my role to be more sales focused but couldn't determind when that would take place. He advised that they were thinking about outsourcing all Marketing related roles but promote me - but I was quickly informed that my role may be redundant if I wasn't successful. My complaint is, is that my HR department had NO IDEA that my Manager was telling me that I might be made redundant, nor did they know that redundancy was on the cards - they were completely out of the loop. I have since been reminded again regarding my possible redundancy.

Since my marketing manager has been out of work I have had very little contact with my managers, and having to set up my own campaigns and liaise with our partners to try and increase our prospect pipeline.

I am at the point where I don't know what I'm ment to be doing, I have no communication with my managers, I'm sitting here twiddling my thumbs with the threat of redundancy.

As my management haven't followed procedure with regards to redundancy, and was "trying to be open and honest" with me, haven't really spoken to me or managed me for months, where would I stand with regards to constructive dismissal??

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
