Devon:

Two weeks is actually enough. That amount of time would give the mother time to heal and by the end of that, hopefully she will be able to move around on her own without any discomfort.

But 110 quids surely is low!

From April 2011 the current statutory rate is £128.73 for maternity, paternity and adoption pay.

You can transfer the mothers untaken maternity leave to the childs father OR the person with parental responsibility for the child (http://www.drurypsm.com/news/7 for info)

So my girlfriend and I have been together 3 years and she just recently got pregnant !!!!!!! weve been hoping for a family..Anyways, our best friend donated his sperm to help us out and the 3 of us have decided that he will not be a father role nor play a parenting role in the childs life at all!! question is, how easy is it for him to sign off all parental rights or does he even have to do that? we just wanna be safe in the long run, so years down the road we are still prtotected..any advice or answers would help thank u

Hmm I'm not so sure on the laws on this, with it not being related to employment.

Most guys exaggerate these measurements, it's best to go and find out if you want accurate information.

I think you are entitled to paternity leave if you are the partner of the biological mother, it does not matter if you're male or female. Just as long as you have an enduring relationship with the mother.
