Default Being promoted whilst on a secondment

Hi there, it's now since September 2011 that I ve been seconded and since now a few months, the company I have been seconded to has offered me a promotion. I feel, however very hard done and undervalued as the salary that an employee from that company would get is considerable higher than what I will be earning. I would like to understand my rights as to compare both and retaliate. I have read through my secondment agreement and nowhere does it mention about promotions. One thing I seem to know for sure is that my employer is taking in a large margin of my pay ! And it doesn't t seem fair. If anyone has any advice to give I would really appreciate it. Thanks
