Default Apprenticeships

What are the benefits of apprenticeships? And do apprentices count as employees?

An apprenticeship gives one a chance to earn and learn in a wide range of jobs. It gives one the chance to broaden experience and qualifications and to develop skills.

And from what I know, most, but not all, of those who are under an apprenticeship or an advanced apprenticeship enjoy an employed status.

Employed apprentices are actually covered by the terms and conditions provided for by their employment contract or training agreement.

Speaking of apprenticeships, do you think somebody from HR would ever win The Apprentice? I remember that there was one HR contestant and proved to be a strong contender, but didn't win.
