Default a lot of people not getting living wage pay

This is a different kind of equal pay. There are reports from the Fair Play Network that showed that 1 in 5 British workers are getting less than the minimum wage of £6.75. For these people, the FPN says that they would have to work longer in order to barely live.

That is horrible. You would have thought that our workers are better protected than this!

I agree, but the FPN showed this to be a reality. Mind you that this 20% translate to around 5.3 million, so it's a big problem!

We do, and that is why there is a staggering number of people who fall below it.

What I find more alarming is that most of these people turn to debt when they can't make ends meet. That's just sad.

I know. They have been borrowing money to get by, to get what they need. And guess what, this has spurred a tripling of the amount of debt owed by UK households.

That is why the FPN and the TUC have been working hard to urge organisations to have a living wage standard. I think that most of MPs are supporting this as well.

Only with a living wage can you help families get out of poverty!

I've read a separate KPMG statement that they are part of the London Living Wage pledge, a statement that says all of their staff are paid at leas £7.85 per hour. The sad truth is that there are only 85 organisations who have this pledge.
