Default UK organisations might not be ready for ageing workforce

With the retirement being abolished, do you think that we are ready for an aging workforce? For my part, I don't think we are.

You are not alone, the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development have reported that 86% of HR managers and managers feel that they aren't ready with an ageing workfore. This means that they may not be ready to face the issue once it crops up.

What's more troubling is that 43% of managers didn't even know their organisation's policies on retirement. There are even no way to recognise the efforts of the older workers in 34% of these organistaions!

But a silver lining to all these is that they do recognise just how important the older workers are. For one almost all managers and HR managers surveyed said that they see value in retaining the experience and know-how of older workers.

Theres two sides to this I suppose - the experience older workers bring is one 'benefit' if you can call it that

Vet fees and insurance is a big rip off. Vets expect you to have insurance so hike up the bill even when you've been given a price for treatment. It does not make you a bad pet owner if you don't have insurance and i think more investigations shold be done into the matter.
